On October 5, 2020 Jules Evans found a Lewis's Woodpecker (Melanerpes lewis) at Nehalem Bay State Park. This individual was seen later the same day and the following day by at least four additional observers and was well documented by photographs. This sighting is believed to be the first for this species in Tillamook County.
